As I delve deeper into the world of time travel, I'm facing some tough decisions about how to explain the mechanics of this fantastical element to my readers.
If you’ve read the first two books the TimeBlink series, you’ll know I left out the nitty-gritty details about how a silver necklace came to have the power to transport its wearer forward or back in time.
This was by design. I figured because I wasn’t especially interested in the “how” of the time travel, my readers wouldn’t be either.
However, when one reviewer commented that the time-travel element “was not explored sufficiently to be acceptable to SF readers,” the self-doubt crept in.
Were my stories missing something fundamental? Did all readers need a detailed description of how the time travel worked, or just the hardcore sci-fi fans?
