Illegal hunting, logging and fishing activities recurred in some areas in September. Besides, people have been caught directly exploiting non-timber forest products and illegal hunting is still going on.
Periodic and irregular patrols have been carried out on a weekly basis, but only to limit the illegal activities of people in some hot areas in the Park.
Twenty Panthera PoacherCams and batteries was arrived at our office. Our science advisor is on the way to test them and write down manual. These Poachercamp will be used to improve the effectiveness of forest protection in Pu Mat National Park.
Also in Sept, Decree 84/2021 was officially established, amending some articles in Decree 06/2019/ND-CP on the management of endangered, precious and rare forest plants and animals and the implementation of the Convention on International Trade in Fauna and Flora endangered wild. This is a success from SVW's efforts in policy advocacy in recent times.
