Local/School Level: collect physical OR electronic entries, your choice! School Reflection Chairs set their own due dates, usually mid to late October.
Advancing to District: entries advancing to District (Local/School to District) must be submitted digitally.
District entries are due Friday, November 17th.
If entries advance to State level: TXPTA will request physical entries for Photography and Visual Arts entries (only). I will coordinate collecting physical entries with School Chairs when appropriate but please remind your Visual Arts and Photography entries to keep the physical entries (parents/students).
Key Information and Takeaways:
Technology access. Please accept flash-drive entries for those with technology trouble and please be flexible with any students or parents who have questions or that may require additional assistance with electronic forms or submittals.
Judges must judge anonymously whether they are judging physical or electronic entries. Please see helpful hints on link above for suggested workarounds.
Please use and distribute the Fill-in Entry Form. If you receive a handwritten form and the entry is advancing to District, please contact the parent or student and ask them to resubmit the form OR please key the information onto the fill-in form before submitting to District.
Quick Tip: Keep the original submitted version for any needed reference back.
Photo Quality: If accepting digital entries, You may consider asking the entrant to take a few pictures in different lights, backgrounds or angles, in order to best capture the entry.
Quick Tip: The artwork should fill-up the entire screen of the picture.
Allow adequate time to process the entries. You should allow time to trouble-shoot file types, work with parents and students on electronic files, verify membership, verify or complete missing form information before the deadline.
Judging can be done virtually or remotely.
Entries that advance to District level are the Top 20% in each category and age group. If a fraction, round up!
This year’s theme is “I am hopeful because...” Please emphasize to your school as well as judges the importance of entries complying with the theme.
Any Local PTA/PTSA that attains Active Status no later than October 31 is eligible to sponsor Reflections on their campus. PTAs who are not in Good Standing may affect students’ eligibility to receive awards from Texas PTA.
