How’s your week going? I’ve been working on updates for a mini relaunch of makerdesign.tools, which I’ll share more on in the next few weeks.
This week’s design lesson
This is a lesson from the Tiny Design Lessons ebook.
Text on top of images can be hard to read
A common design technique is to put headline text over the top of an image. This may be impactful, but if not done correctly, it can frustrate or prevent users from reading your text.
Reduce any information unrelated to your offer or goals.
Don’t use slideshows (carousels) – they look nice but reduce action.
Keep animations or auto-playing video/gifs minimal.
Flashing elements should also be avoided or minimised.
This is a great collection of pre-built components and templates designed for Carrd. From hero sections to complex pricing tables, this is a way to kick start your Carrd projects.
Design quote of the week
“The ability to see order through chaos is called creativity”
