Incident Description

It has been reported that a tanker was attacked 3nm Southeast of the mouth of the Opobo River, Rivers State. A number of pirates boarded the tanker and kidnapped three crew members. The tanker continued under local pilot to Uta-Ewa in Akwa Ibom. The Nigerian Authorities were informed and a Naval vessel was dispatched to provide support.
