Kennett Summerfest will celebrate exceptional local wineries and distilleries, bringing together wine, spirits, cheese, art, and live music in a sophisticated festival atmosphere.
The inaugural Summerfest on Sunday, June 12th, will give ticket holders the unique opportunity to taste wines from some of the best local and regional wineries, paired with cheeses from Talula’s Table as well as mixed drinks featuring spirits from local distilleries. Live music by Bryan Tuk + The Big Brass Ones, wine-centric shopping, food trucks, and a curated pop-up al fresco gallery of local artists will all combine to create a Sunday afternoon to savor.
Most people know they can find fresh vegetables, mushrooms, meat, cheese, and bread every week at the KSQ Farmers Market from 3pm to 6pm every Friday at The Creamery.
But did you know that you can also find beautiful and delicious European pastries at the market? Melina from Tat's Yummies is at the market every week with a wide variety of sweet delicacies that reflect her heritage and family traditions and are made with simple, natural ingredients.
Come to the next Kennett Collaborative Speaker Series event at 6pm on May 17th to learn how Steve Nygren built a beautiful, sustainable community that houses more people and also preserved 70% of the landscape.
There are lots of exciting things happening in the park this spring and summer . . . from the return of the beloved trout rodeo today to pickleball courts, plans for a free summer concert series, the installation of bat houses to keep insects naturally under control to make summer evenings in the park more pleasant for everyone, and ongoing forestry management.

The Harlem Wizards are coming to Kennett!
The Harlem Wizards, a performance basketball team, is returning to Kennett High School on Saturday, May 14th at 6pm. The Wizards will play against KCSD faculty and staff. This year, to commemorate the 20-year anniversary of the 2002 Kennett men’s basketball championship, former players will return to play as well. Buy tickets now for this fun community event that is also a KHS Mini-THON fundraiser for Four Diamonds and pediatric cancer research.

Calling all artists . . . apply now to participate in the First Annual Kennett Arts Festival!
Following in the long tradition of art in the Brandywine Valley, the Kennett Library is hosting its first annual Kennett Arts Festival on October 15th and 16th, 2022.
Organizers are calling for artists in all mediums to apply now to be part of this event, which will be held at 600 South Broad Street, Kennett Square.
Kennett Area Community Service (KACS) is the premier agency in Southern Chester County providing food, emergency assistance, and crisis services for people who are homeless or imminently homeless.
KACS recently experienced some flooding in the Food Cupboard and is asking community members to help spread the word that they will be open for food distribution only on Wednesdays from 12 to 4pm for the next few weeks.
While they're unable to accept food donations of food at this time, you can click here to help by donating your time or money. Thank you for supporting KACS as you are able!
On your mark, get set . . . get ready to celebrate next weekend in Kennett Square!
The Kennett Run is back up and running next Saturday, May 7th, and so is Casa Guanajuato's Cinco de Mayo Festival, from 1pm to 7pm at 600 S. Broad Street. This festival, one of the region’s premier Cinco de Mayo events, will offer a feast for the senses with great food, great music and dance performances, activities, and something for everyone to enjoy!
On your way to or from the Cinco de Mayo Festival, stop in to see artist Carol Lesher's beautiful work at her Open Studio Day from 10am to 5pm (and pick up the perfect Mother's Day gift while you're there!). Carol says: "Immerse yourself in the sea of colors from my latest work ... Pick up an original piece or giclée print, including work from my popular Longwood Gardens collection."
And ... plan to celebrate moms, get a beautiful photo, and support the amazing work of YoungMoms in our community at their photo booth at the corner of State and Union Streets on Saturday, May 7th, and Sunday, May 8th, from 8am to 2pm. YoungMoms has been making an impact in Kennett Square and Oxford for more than a decade—inspiring, empowering, and equipping young moms to build thriving futures for themselves and their families. YoungMoms’ holistic approach provides practical and relational support that both pregnant and young mothers desperately need. Learn how you can support their work here.
