Direct from Palanca, in the south of the country, where we took some time to celebrate the results of 2024, as well as to take time to gather energy for the new year, we are writing our last newsletter of this year. We can't allow 2024 to come to a close without telling you how much we achieved in the month of December. With many of you we caught up, embraced and re-energized - a perfect end of the year. We have this month best recorded in our photographers' album.
Before you honor this newsletter with a bit of attention, we have recorded a card congratulations to you. Enjoy your viewing and see you in 2025! Happy New Year! 💚 |

Study visit for farmers from the left bank of the Dniester river |
|
Together with 14 farmers from the left bank of the Dniester, we went to Soldanesti to visit Micu&CO SRL - a company that has over 400 hectares of cereals grown in an organic system! Alexei Micu told and showed the farmers that organic farming is based on practices taken from nature, without the addition of chemicals or other artificial supplements. This not only has a positive impact on environmental and community health, but can also be profitable, with growing consumer demand and export prospects. Read more about the experience here. |

Energy efficiency training for villagers |
|
On October 19-20 and 26-27 we organized practical trainings for rural residents, where participants had the opportunity to learn more about energy efficiency. These sessions were more than just theory - they were an opportunity to turn knowledge into concrete action and build more sustainable communities better prepared for the energy challenges of the future. Participants were inspired to implement these solutions not only for their own comfort, but also to help protect the environment. Find out here about the topics discussed at the trainings. |

EDU+ Forum |
|
The event returned after a one-year break, this time with the theme of environmental education. We gathered to explore environmental education through participatory methods and tools. Teachers, together with youth workers, tested the Keep Cool method, the Amazon Rainforest and so on, and were given access to the La Limita Deșeurilor (”At the Limits of Waste”) course as a tool to work with students. As a red thread through everything we did at the forum was the importance of reflection in environmental education. In this post get to know more about how the forum went. |

“Reapri Cafe” workshops in teh regions |
|
We were delighted to host 12 “Repari Cafe” workshops in Waste Management Regions (RMD) 5, 8 and 1. At each workshop, children brought broken appliances from home: electrical appliances, small household appliances and other devices that would otherwise go to landfill. Together with a team of enthusiastic specialists, we repaired them, giving them new life. Repair and reuse are simple but extremely important steps towards building a sustainable future. Every object saved is a small victory for the environment, and involving children in such activities teaches them to be responsible and caring citizens for our planet. Read more about how the workshops were organized here. |

The exhibition „Clima în alb-negru” |
|
But do you remember the winter days of your childhood years? By now you've probably accepted the reality of plus-temperature winters and no hats outside, but science (and our memories) tell us that it wasn't always like this, nor should we notice these differences in such a short time. All these observations, personal memories, stories of our grandparents are already part of our history, and the „Clima prin obiectiv” initiative group has brought them to life in the form of an exhibition „Clima în alb-negru” at the National Museum of the History of Moldova. You can visit it until January 10. And because they are also our colleagues, we were among the first to visit the exhibition, right at its opening on December 20. See how it was here. |

Climate in black and white |
|
The exhibition „Clima în alb-negru” promotes dialog between science, art and community, urging visitors to meditate on the effects of climate change and to be aware of our responsibility in protecting the environment for future generations. You'll find memories that make older people miss and younger people curious. Discover how Moldova's climate, environment and life have changed in a single generation. Come see it through January 10, at the National Museum of History of Moldova. Bring a friend, a grandmother, a child. It's an opportunity to understand, feel and reflect. |

There were materials promoted in December in the area of waste management and energy efficiency... Unfortunately all those materials are only available in Romanian (the main language spoken in the Republic of Moldova), that's why they are not included in the English version of the newsletter. However, if you want to have a look at them, see the button below.
