Dear ,
Exhibiting at Labelexpo Europe gave us an opportunity to learn about challenges facing converters.
The biggest takeaways from our discussions with label and package printers - from SMEs to multi-national manufacturers - is that automation, digitalization and data integration are no longer optional in label and packaging printing. They are essential to tackling skills shortages, meeting new workplace expectations, boosting efficiency, and complying with growing sustainability and traceability demands.
As we explain in our latest blog, we see integration of ink data with the wider print workflow as the key to unlocking value and driving performance in flexo. Certainly, progress has been made with software suites such as GSE Ink manager. But we see room for further improvements in data sharing, to help printers achieve the agility, transparency and competitiveness needed to thrive in an unpredictable, service-driven value chain.
We invite value chain partners - press manufacturers, MIS system suppliers, workflow automation providers, formulation software developers and ink suppliers to collaborate with us to close the ink data gap!
Augmented reality app simplifies integration of ink logistics A star attraction for converters and trade media at our Labelexpo stand was an augmented reality (AR)-powered app, that helps converters visualize how GSE dispensing hardware can best integrate into their own operations.
Designing and integrating a new ink workflow can be a complex affair. This tool, installed on a portable tablet screen, allows users to position, rotate, scale and look inside equipment, making complex workflows easier to understand for entire teams.
