If I had a nickel for every goal I set and didn't meet, I think I'd be a billionaire! Looking back on those missed goals, I can confidently say that they weren't realistic and I wasn't equipped to properly attack those goals.

Creating S.M.A.R.T. Goals

You could hop on the internet, research how to do this, and be flooded with resources, most of them very useful! I wanted to give you an easy snapshot into what S.M.A.R.T. goals are so that you can apply the concept to what you want to accomplish.

Example of a S.M.A.R.T. Goal

I will lose 2lbs this week by properly tracking my food on iTrackBites and drinking 90oz of water a day.

S: The goal is specific to what I want to accomplish (weight loss)

M: I can measure my success by not only weighing myself at the end of the week but also checking my iTrackBites app to make sure I've logged all of my food and water.

A: This goal is achievable for me. I have done it in the past and I know if I stick to it, I can do it again!

R: It is relevant to my current circumstances (I'm not adding in the unrealistic goal of working out every day because that isn't in the cards for me this week).

T: This goal is time bound to one week. I'm not thinking too far into the future.
