It is a known fact that gratitude makes people feel better. Even a simple thank you has benefits for the sender as well as the recipient. At Chara, we give heartfelt thanks for a year of continuing music studies with your children and support from our Chara families. We are grateful for the opportunities to work with your kids and to see them perform for family and friends with in-person recitals.
As the school year comes to a close, the Chara Music Department gears up for summer lessons and new explorations in music while giving thanks for YOU.
Joyful Noise Recital
On May 22nd and 23rd, friends and family gathered at Friendswood Friends Church for 94 musical performances in “Joyful Noise”, the music department spring recitals. Enjoying performances in piano, guitar, voice and ukulele, the audience was treated to varied genres and selections showcasing the progress of our music students. We celebrate the achievements of Chara Musicians over the past year and applaud their efforts at recital.
Musicians who were honored with the Above and Beyond Award for year-long dedication, achievement and progress included:
Musicians may continue in summer lessons through the summer or choose to be on July break. Beyond encouraging your student to keep up their skills with assignment and technique review, remember to keep music a part of your summer plans.
Go see a music concert or musical (things are opening back up!). Find a free concert in the park. Have a family sing-a-long. Encourage that garage band group of neighborhood kids. Search summer camps and festivals for music motivators. Music is a life skill – bring it into your summertime life and make it a music summer!
