Happy Saturday! I'm committing to sending out newsletters twice a month on the second and fourth Saturdays. This week, and every second Saturday, will be my 'Behind the Scenes' edition, while my second newsletter of the month will be my 'Reading List' edition. Enjoy, and hit reply if you have any questions or comments!

Celebrate Easter for Eight Days

Just like there's twelve days of Christmas to spread out the celebrating, there's a full Octave (or eight days) to celebrate Easter. So take a breath and know that all those fun crafts and activities you keep seeing online don't need to be packed into one day. In fact Eastertide lasts for 50 days, so while the bulk of the celebrating is done within the first eight days, you can take your time, and hopefully avoid any stress, by enjoying Easter traditions when it suits your family vs ALL THE TRADITIONS TOMORROW!!  (Sort of like how I consider it a win if I get Christmas cards mailed by Candlemas.)

Look to Him and Be Radiant is a good one stop shop for easy crafts and activities. You can use my colorful octave planner to schedule one special thing a day through the Easter Octave. You can find it in my Free Resource Library.  And if you have older kids, this post from my archives is a good resource.

Family Life

Easter Goodies

We put a few decorations out yesterday, and today we're rolling an Easter candle using a kit from Illuminated Ink and tonight we'll have a bonfire (or maybe just a fire in the fireplace if the burn ban isn't lifted). Tomorrow we'll watch Mass, eat lamb, and do an egg hunt in our yard. I don't know when we'll decorate eggs, maybe Monday? Point is, it will be low stress.

Since we give up sweets for Lent, our Easter baskets are filled with candy and snacks. We can't get some of the local, homemade candy we usually enjoy, and ALL the gummi bears were sold out at the store, but I don't think there'll be any complaining.

First Look
Outdoor fun

We are finally getting more sunny days than rainy days, so I've been forcing everyone outside after diner whenever possible. We've dug out the badminton set, horseshoes, croquet, and a disc golf set. We need to replace our ladder ball set, and we have yet to invest in corn-hole though we all love playing it at family picnics. Teddy's wheelchair is finally getting repaired on Monday, so he will be back to speeding around the yard in no time. Our favorite family outdoor games can be found on my Recommendations page
