~~ Christmas 2020 ~~

Season's greetings to you all!  I hope this finds you safe and well. This image is one of my Christmas card designs, 'Home For Christmas' - it seemed quite fitting for this year!

Well it has certainly been a year we'll never forget and one that's been tough on us all. Despite the lows of this year, one high for me was seeing how my local villagers came together to support the vulnerable members of our community. - really heartwarming and selfless acts of kindness. I saw the same sense of unity in the art community - artists, galleries, framers and many others, all working together to keep each other going and watching each others backs during the most difficult times.

Better times are on their way! Roll on 2021! I'm dong my best to stay positive. I have so many artworks in my head and can't wait to get cracking on them in the new year.

I have deliberately saved some very exciting news for this final newsletter of 2020 so don't go anywhere just yet!!

A New Studio!!

Many of you may have noticed my work is growing in size! in fact, the floor of my home studio has been my workbench for much of this year! (apart from the minis of course!)  With this in mind, as well as the sore knees, I decided it was time to find a larger workspace, a second workspace where I can purely create to whatever size I fancy! I found the perfect place just outside Yealmpton, where I live.

What's even more exciting is that I'll be sharing this fabulous space with my good friend and fellow artist, Shirley Kirkcaldy.  (You can see Shirley's work at www.shirleykirkcaldyart.com) We've spent the last couple of months renovating it  and we're planning a grand opening weekend in early March.

Here are some sneaky peeks!

Here it is in the early stages of it's makeover! As you can see the light is perfect, there's plenty of space (this is just one part of the studio) and and the countryside views are stunning.

A few sneaky peeks of how it's coming along...

The studio is located at Yealmbridge, on the outskirts of Yealmpton, in the South Hams, Devon.

As well as monthly open studio weekends, Shirley and I are planning to run occasional workshops and classes! Yes, finally! I know many of you have been asking about this and I can tell you that there will be dates in the next newsletter! Mixed media workshops begin in March!!!!!

So quite a bit to be excited about!

Christmas Culture!

An arty beacon!! If you are nearby, Dartington is wonderful at Christmas time and the Mason Laurence Gallery is open up to and including Christmas Eve. Based at the heart of the Dartington Shops, there's lots of new art in (including many of my originals) and the gallery of course has strict Covid measures in place for your safety.

Thank You!

Despite the year's challenges, I'm still here and still in the business of creating art and I am very grateful for that. Your support has not only kept me doing what I love but enabled me to support four fabulous charities who have faced great challenges this year - Wildlife Koala Rescue, Action For Children, St Luke's Hospice and Livewire Youth. Thank you so much.

I wish you all a merry, safe Christmas. I'm so looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible in 2021.

Stay safe.
