Gebert Contemporary Art Gallery is pleased to announce a new partnership with sculptor Pascal Piermé (b. 1962). Pascal grew up in Saint-Raphaël, France. After his art studies, he had several solo exhibitions and worked on collaborative projects alongside creative giants such as Pierre Cardin. In 1997, Piermé moved to Santa Fe. The magical landscapes of New Mexico - open, raw, brutal and simultaneously soft - were artistically stimulating.

He focused on working with wood, enjoying its fluidity in appearance accompanied by its strength retention. Of wood’s obstinate quality, he observes "allowing the medium to take some initiative" can bring about positive creative results.

The IDEA is what he values. His work about the process of discovery – studies in contrast, replete with meaning, void of conclusion. This is the essence of Piermé’s art: honesty in illusion, harmony in divergence, realism in abstraction, simplicity in complexity.

Gebert Contemporary Art Gallery specializes in the contemporary abstract painting and sculpture of an international group of artists. While most of the gallery artists are mid-career and established, we do exhibit a small number of emerging artists. Exhibited works come from Belgium, Germany, Mexico, Spain and the United States.

ORIGINES + LIFE: PASCAL PIERMÉ, a 244-page monograph published by GF Contemporary, Inc. Included are essays from journalist Hollis Walker and art historian Robin Clark.

In his long, global career, Pascal Piermé has made over 3,600 unique works of art, a representation of which are covered in this monograph.

Piermé’s work has been included in 80+ solo, museum and international exhibitions out of the 120+ exhibitions outlined on his résumé. Included are: Chinese European Art Center, Xiamen, China; Palm Springs Museum of Art, Palm Springs, California; Phoenix Art Museum, Phoenix, Arizona; Georgia O'Keeffe Museum Annex, Santa Fe, New Mexico; Governor’s Gallery, Santa Fe State Capital Building, Santa Fe, New Mexico; Taos Museum of Art, Taos, New Mexico; French Consulate, New York, New York; Albuquerque Museum, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Ube Center of Art, Ube, Japan.

Origines + Life is a 224 page monograph on Piermé’s work with essays by journalist Hollis Walker and art historian Robin Clark, published in 2023 by GF Contemporary, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Fresco Fine Art Books has highlighted Piermé ’s work in their New Mexico Millenium and Abstract Art publications. Countless magazines have featured his sculpture, including Magazine 43, Berlin, Manila, Hong Kong; LandEscape Art Review, London and New York; Western Art and Architecture; Santa Fean Magazine; and American Art Collector.

In addition, Piermé has found charitable endeavors an important facet in his artistic career. He has worked as an organizer and benefactor for several organizations relating to the promotion of the arts: The Santa Fe Artist’s Emergency Medical Fund; National Dance Institute; Art in Schools; Taos Museum of Art; Aid and Comfort; The Cancer Foundation for New Mexico; and The Horse Power Project, among others.

His is currently represented by five galleries across the United States. Works can be found in many permanent public collections, including: Delta Airlines; ABC; Roger Guillemin, Nobel Prize recipient, Medicine; Palais Bulles, Pierre Cardin's residence, Cannes, France; Tom Mottola, Casa Blanca Records, New York, New York; University of Iowa; Trust for Public Land, Los Angeles, California; Marriott Hotels, nationwide; Creighton University; City Hall, Cologny, Switzerland and Equifax World Headquarters, Atlanta, Georgia.
