With Santa’s judgy face peering around every corner these days, it got me thinking about the literary adventures we embark on, and the ones we maybe... exaggerate a little.

Well, I have a confession. I haven’t conquered Tolstoy’s masterpiece yet, but I did manage to make it through Stephen King’s epic tome, The Stand. That’s right — all 500,000 words of the original version! It’s been a while since I read it, and I think I’d feel differently about it now, having gone through a real-life global health crisis. Maybe I’ll add it to my 2024 TBR list to find out.
