Exclusive Interview with Series Producer Martin McKeand – PART 2

This month we bring you part 2 of our exclusive interview with Auf Wiedersehen, Pet Series Producer Martin McKeand. Martin tells us how cast and crew coped with the sad loss of Gary Holton, how Tim Healy was prone to the occasional mishap on set, whether there was any truth in the rumour a third series in the 80’s was to be set in Moscow and how he feels about the love and affection shown by fans across the world almost 35 years since Auf Wiedersehen, Pet first aired back in 1983.

Read Part 1 and 2 of our interview with Martin here.

The team would sincerely like to thank Martin for taking time out of his busy schedule to answer our questions.

From The Archives....

In 2002 Auf Wiedersehen, Pet returned for a third series but not before the press got hold of our lads on location in Arizona! This brand new series came 16 years after Series 2 and had many at the BBC on tenterhooks. Will it be a success and can we equal what we did in the 80’s?

Thankfully the revived BBC series went on to become a smash hit hitting 12 million viewers.

This interview 'from the archives' sees Times reporter Stephen Hobbs meet the lads on location in the Arizona desert. Stephen also catches up with Auf Wiedersehen, Pet creator Franc Roddam and talks with writer Ian la Frenais about returning some 16 years on.
