Exclusive Interview with Series Producer Martin McKeand – PART 2

This month we bring you part 2 of our exclusive interview with Auf Wiedersehen, Pet Series Producer Martin McKeand. Martin tells us how cast and crew coped with the sad loss of Gary Holton, how Tim Healy was prone to the occasional mishap on set, whether there was any truth in the rumour a third series in the 80’s was to be set in Moscow and how he feels about the love and affection shown by fans across the world almost 35 years since Auf Wiedersehen, Pet first aired back in 1983.

Read Part 1 and 2 of our interview with Martin here.

The team would sincerely like to thank Martin for taking time out of his busy schedule to answer our questions.

Sunday for Sammy 2016

Last month saw the release of the much-anticipated Sunday for Sammy 2016 DVD packed full of tears and laughter with highlights from an array of stars.

This year’s two-and-a-half-hour spectacle includes a two-part Auf Wiedersehen, Pet sketch penned by Ian Le Frenais and Dick Clements entitled ‘Helen and the Geordies’. This comedy take on ‘Helen of Troy’ set in ancient Greece sees our lads commissioned to complete construction of a Trojan Horse. Auf Pet regulars Tim Healy (Dennis), Kevin Whately (Neville), Chris Fairbank (Moxey), Julia Tobin (Brenda), Lesley Saint-John (Vicki) and Denise Welch (Jean) were joined by Stephen Tompkinson (Ballykissangel), Billy Clark and Tim’s youngest son Louis Healy bringing the script to life with energy.

Pop in to JG Windows, Newcastle or the Metro Centre, Gateshead and grab your copy or order online here.

And if you spot yourself in the audience wearing one of our official Auf Wiedersehen, Pet tee shirts, get in touch before the end of October to receive a special gift from the team here at the Official Auf Wiedersehen, Pet Fansite!

75% of proceeds from the sale of this DVD go to the Sunday for Sammy Trust, Charity number 1144531.

From The Archives....

In 2002 Auf Wiedersehen, Pet returned for a third series but not before the press got hold of our lads on location in Arizona! This brand new series came 16 years after Series 2 and had many at the BBC on tenterhooks. Will it be a success and can we equal what we did in the 80’s?

Thankfully the revived BBC series went on to become a smash hit hitting 12 million viewers.

This interview 'from the archives' sees Times reporter Stephen Hobbs meet the lads on location in the Arizona desert. Stephen also catches up with Auf Wiedersehen, Pet creator Franc Roddam and talks with writer Ian la Frenais about returning some 16 years on.

The Official Auf Wiedersehen, Pet Fansite is the largest ever collection of behind the scenes information, pictures, articles, videos and interviews and is about to become ever bigger! Don’t forget to check back regularly for all the latest news at
