The new ChipWhisperer software version is being released in the next few days! Since our last update, we've been hard at work adding features, fixing bugs, and making general quality of life improvements! Our most exciting news is that we're adding support for two new major devices.
The first, the ChipWhisperer-Husky, is effectively an upgraded ChipWhisperer-Lite, featuring a faster ADC (200MS/s vs 105MS/s on the Lite), a differential input for the ADC, improved clocking, and a bigger FPGA. This allows it to replicate many features available on the ChipWhisperer-Pro, including streaming mode and SAD/UART triggers.
The second new board is an FPGA target, similar to the CW305. Named the CW310 Bergen Board, this is a much more fully-featured board, having DDR3 memory, SRAM, ethernet ports, and more. It also features much larger FPGA options than the CW305. You can see the full details of the board at https://rtfm.newae.com/Targets...
Another new feature we're excited about is debugger support for ChipWhisperer capture boards. With the newest firmware available in this release, you'll be able to use your capture board to upload code onto and debug almost all of our targets!
On the Lite, Pro, and Nano, this repurposes existing IO pins (mostly the SPI pins on the 20-pin header), but on the Husky you'll have access to an additional 20-pin header that can be dedicated to JTAG/SWD.
This feature is also available on the CW310 Bergen Board, with the JTAG pins running directly into the FPGA.

Aside from these big changes, here are some other things to look forward to:
- A software version check for ChipWhisperer
- Improved reliability for the Windows installer
- A GUI based firmware installer for Windows (replaces the old command line .exe)
- Overhauled software documentation at https://chipwhisperer.readthed...
- *A feature list corresponding to firmware versions
- Lots of bug fixes
You can see the full list of changes at https://github.com/newaetech/c..., or on the ChipWhisperer 5.6.1 release page.
