Dear Scouting Friends,
At the Michigan Crossroads Council, we’ve seen time and time again how small actions—guided by values—can make an extraordinary impact. Ean McClintic, a 13-year-old Life Scout from Linden Troop 111, exemplifies this spirit.
Ean’s Eagle Scout project honors more than 65 Civil War and Indian American War veterans at the Linden Fairview Cemetery. With the leadership skills he’s gained through Scouting, Ean is working to install aluminum G.A.R./U.S. veteran grave markers, ensuring these veterans are remembered for generations to come.
Why this project? For Ean, it’s personal: “Every year before Memorial Day we go and place flags by veterans in the Fairview Cemetery. The Civil War Veterans’ headstones are so worn that you cannot read most of them and so the majority of these veterans are not recognized for their service.” He wants to change that.
Ean’s dedication reminds us that thoughtful preparation can create a legacy of service and impact. This winter, you have the opportunity to do the same.
We’ve partnered with FreeWill to provide a free estate planning tool that helps you protect what matters most, gain long-term peace of mind, and secure your legacy with ease. In just 20 minutes, you can:
Ensure your wishes are honored and loved ones are cared for.
Designate guardians for children or pets.
Empower future generations of Scouts like Ean with an optional legacy gift to the MCC.
Just as Ean is preserving the stories of those who served before him, your legacy can empower the leaders of tomorrow. Together, we can ensure that Scouting continues to shape ethical, service-minded young people across Michigan for years to come.
Are you ready to secure your future? This winter, let’s help our loved ones — and our Scouts — become Prepared. For Life.®
P.S. Have you already made your will and included a gift to the MCC? Please notify us by filling out this short form so we can update our records and thank you.
