Enroll Now for Fall - Online vs. Online-Live Formats

Madison College plans to offer almost all classes online in both Summer and Fall 2020. The U.S. government continues to allow international students to take all courses online during this COVID-19 emergency. There are now two different online class formats:

    • Online (No real-time interaction with instructor or classmates required. Class can be completed asynchronously and independently.)
    • Online – Live (Real-time interaction with others is required. Students will need to log-on and participate in an online, synchronous class format at specified times.)

We ask that you enroll now for Fall 2020 classes and encourage you to consider these two class formats carefully as you build your schedule. If you plan to remain outside of the U.S. while studying and wish to keep your F-1 visa status and I-20 active, you must notify CIE.

    CARES Emergency Funding

In a continued effort to support students in need, we are pleased to announce the Madison College CARES Private Fund. This fund is available to students who have unexpected expenses and is provided by private donations from local organizations.

    3. Login to complete the application

    MIP Grocery Card Giveaway

The COVID-19 crisis has created hardships to many including international students.

Madison International Partners is bringing its modest contribution in the efforts to alleviate the hardship. We are helping international students by giving them grocery store gift cards. Apply for a gift card here (one card per family)

    Travel Signature

CIE discourages all travel before July 31 due to COVID-19.

If you must travel, use great caution and carefully consider the following:

      • Visa expired? Ability to return highly uncertain. U.S. Embassies and Consulates have cancelled all visa interviews and it is unknown when they will accept appointments again. If your F-1 visa has expired and you leave the U.S., there is great risk of not getting a visa interview appointment to return for Fall 2020.
      • Travel Signature expired? Allow at least 2 weeks to receive a new I-20 via the I-20 Reprint Request process due to campus closure.
      • Review Advisories! Both CIE’s Travel Requirements and Madison College’s Travel Updates.
Remember to File your IRS Tax Forms

As a nonresident in the U.S. you have a tax filing obligation with the IRS, even if you did not receive U.S. income.

Failure to file can lead to complications when applying for U.S. visas in the future.

Madison College has arranged free access to Sprintax Tax Preparation for you.

Sprintax will guide you through the tax preparation process, arrange the necessary documents and check if you are due a tax refund.

All you need to do is:

      • Register and follow the simple instructions
      • Complete the online questionnaire
      • Enter your unique code SpTx2019MC51F
      • Sprintax will prepare your tax return

Finally, once you complete the preparation process in the Sprintax software, you must print, sign and mail your documents to the IRS.

If you have any questions, the Sprintax team will be happy to help via their 24/7 live chat facility.
