As many of you may know, for the last three years, we’ve been working on developing, testing, tweaking and trialling our flagship project – The Everyday Plastic Survey.
Today, I am very happy to share that Greenpeace UK will be our exclusive partner on that very project, which has excitingly evolved into The Big Plastic Count – a major national campaign taking place from 16–22 May this year. Head to the website to sign up now!
Through The Big Plastic Count, we’re going to mobilise tens of thousands of people to take part in the biggest ever investigation into household plastic waste.
Partnering with the world’s largest environmental charity is a proud moment for me and the small organisation I founded in 2018. Thinking back to my original experiment – when I covertly stored bin bags full of plastic waste in my spare room – I never imagined the journey Everyday Plastic would take me on. As alumni of this project, this is a good time for me to thank you for being part of the story so far. Your participation (and plastic waste) formed an integral part of the evolution into The Big Plastic Count. This is a big moment in the fight against plastic waste and you have a hand in that.
I would love for you, your family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, WhatApp groups to join The Big Plastic Count to help us uncover the truth about how much we throw away and what happens to it, and prove bold action is needed to solve our plastic problem.
Thank you for your support. Let’s get counting!
