La Fondation PHI pour l’art contemporain et le Centre PHI

Située au 451 et 465, rue Saint-Jean dans le Vieux-Montréal, la Fondation PHI pour l’art contemporain se consacre à présenter des expériences percutantes à travers l’art contemporain par certains des artistes les plus influent·e·s et fascinant·e·s du monde entier. La Fondation PHI présente des expositions majeures, un programme public dynamique et un programme d’éducation progressif, tous offerts gratuitement au public dans le cadre de son engagement envers l’accessibilité.

À quelques mètres de la Fondation, au 315, rue Saint-Paul Ouest, le Centre PHI propose des projets au carrefour de l’art, du cinéma, de la musique, de la réalité virtuelle et de la réalité augmentée, explorant de nouveaux territoires de narration en produisant des installations informées par les nouveaux médias.

Rétrospection

PHI présente deux événements qui vous invitent à jeter un regard sur les années passées et à célébrer l’histoire de ses entités: la Fondation PHI et le Centre PHI. Les célébrations sont de nature festive, incluant une fête de quartier organisée avec le festival de musique local POP Montréal et une programmation de performances musicales et artistiques au Centre PHI.

• Fête de quartier PHI avec POP Montréal

Le vendredi 30 septembre, PHI invite le public à se joindre à une fête en plein air en collaboration avec POP Montréal hors les murs de PHI. Dans l’esprit d’une fête de quartier, l’événement accueillera la DJ Mollygum, des performances par le collectif doux soft club et l’Urban Science Brass Band et d'autres activités ludiques et familiales à l’Entrepôt 77 dans le quartier Mile End. Entrée gratuite.

• Rétrospection: Party d’anniversaires PHI

Le mercredi 5 octobre, PHI fera un retour sur la programmation au fil des ans, avec des séquences vidéo et des documents d’archives exposés au Centre PHI, où se déroulera l’événement. Au programme figurent des artistes qui ont collaboré avec les deux institutions dans le passé, qui reviendront, joueront et feront la fête avec le public et l'équipe de PHI. Les artistes invités sont The Halluci Nation, The Goods (Scott C et Andy Williams), Moridja Kitenge Banza, Kama La Mackerel et Marjolaine Bourdua. Entrée gratuite.

Établi à Montréal, au Canada, avec pour mission d'engager le public avec les idées les plus pertinentes de notre époque, l’écosystème PHI comprend la Fondation PHI pour l’art contemporain, le Centre PHI et le Studio PHI, nouvellement établi en 2019.

Axée sur l’art et les publics d’aujourd'hui et de demain, PHI couvre une gamme d'idées radicales en se concentrant sur l'expérience collective, la responsabilité sociale et la participation du public. The PHI Foundation for Contemporary Art & the PHI Centre

Located at 451 and 465 Saint-Jean Street in Old Montréal, the PHI Foundation for Contemporary Art dedicates itself to presenting impactful experiences through contemporary art by some of the most influential and compelling artists from around the world. The PHI Foundation presents major exhibitions, a dynamic public program, and a progressive education program, all offered free to the public as part of its commitment to accessibility.

A few minutes away from the Foundation, at 315 Saint-Paul Street West, the PHI Centre has championed projects at the crossroads of art, cinema, music, virtual reality, and extended reality, exploring new territories of storytelling by producing installations informed by new media.

Retrospection

PHI is hosting two events to look back over the years and celebrate the history of its entities: the PHI Foundation and the PHI Centre. Both celebrations are festive in nature, including a block party organized with the local music festival POP Montréal, and a line up of musical and art performances held at the PHI Centre.

• PHI Block Party with POP Montréal

On Friday, September 30, PHI invites the public to join an outdoor celebration in collaboration with POP Montréal outside the walls of PHI. In the spirit of a block party, the event will host DJ Mollygum, performances by doux soft club and Urban Science Brass Band, and other activities that are fun and family friendly at Entrepôt 77 in the Mile End neighbourhood. Free admission.

• Retrospection: PHI Anniversary Party

On Wednesday, October 5, PHI will look back on the programming over the years, with video footage and archival material on display at the PHI Centre, where the event will take place. On the roster are artists that have collaborated with the two institutions in the past, who will return, perform, and party with the public and PHI staff. Featuring The Halluci Nation, The Goods (Scott C and Andy Williams), Moridja Kitenge Banza, Kama La Mackerel, and Marjolaine Bourdua. Free admission.
