During 2023 we have been able to rapidly expand services and enhance programs during a challenging year of returning to in-person activities. Our successes include expanding our reach into the Metropolitan area of Prince George’s County, Northern Virginia, and Washington, DC. Our Elder Abuse and Fraud Prevention Training Series completed its pledge to conduct trainings in all nine Districts of Prince George’s County, Maryland.
Our workforce development online trainings this year included Kettering Baptist Church. We conducted two very successful 50+ Refresh Bootcamps that proved to be a life-changing experience for its members and staff.
We are also very proud of our Village Connector Experience program which helps over 924 older adults rebuild their social connections to eradicate loneliness and improve overall mental health.
The Juanita C. Grant Foundation listens to the voices of older adults. Concerns about affordable housing, public safety, health, and reliable access to community services are key issues. We advocate on behalf of older adults, bringing those collective needs and voices to the attention of elected officials, government agencies, and educational institutions.
I ask you to help us amplify the concerns of older adults by supporting this year’s Giving Tuesday. Your generous gift of participation will help us continue expanding direct services and enhancing our schedule of in-person programming in 2024.
- $1,000 will help support two Elder Abuse and Fraud Prevention Trainings equipping older adults to avoid financial loss.
- $2,000 will help support training for 8 volunteers to conduct phone calls 1-3 times per week helping 55 older adults reconnect with their family and friends and improve their mental health.
- $3,000 will help support 2 workforce development workshops and online trainings to help older adults achieve financial security.
Please give generously in whatever amount that is comfortable. We thank you for your continued support of “giving voice to older adults.”
