February's Reflection
God's Glory in us!
Isn’t it amazing that Jesus prayed for us on the night that He was betrayed! (John 17: 2-23) .
Even though He knew what He was about to face, He lifted His eyes to heaven and prayed for you and me. He prayed that we would be one with Him and one with each other. Such amazing unity!! We are one in Him.
But then Jesus prayed that through His death He would give us His glory. And the wonderful truth: it’s a done deal! He has already given us His glory; it is not something to work for, grow into, or to be attained. His glory lives in us now.
But what is this glory? When Moses asked to see God’s glory, God said “I will make all my goodness pass before you.” (Exodus 33:19).
So you can see that God’s glory is the same as His goodness: all the goodness of God dwells in every believer and it is by this that the world will know Jesus; they will see Jesus in us.
It is like a never-ending circle of love between us and God, flowing from the throne of God, into our hearts and out into a hurting, hopeless world. This is the Good News that we carry within us.
