Hello, my wicked and wanton Witches!
Remember how I promised that if you signed up for my Newsletter, I wouldn't pester you or flood your e-mail with constant mailings? Bet you didn't think that meant I'd go months without sending a darn thing, though, huh? Ha! 😋
I won't lie--things sort of went sideways (and backwards and upside-down) here at Casa del Heidi.🤪 Oh, no one died. (Thank God!🙏) There weren't even any injuries other than maybe a stubbed toe or nasty paper cut. The Kittehs are great, Madame Mommy Dearest is still going strong, and we all had a rather enjoyable Summer. I hope the same can be said for you! 🦋
But I did do something very, very stupid and screwed up my computer/files very, very badly.😨I won't go into details (for fear I'll have another nervous breakdown🤯), but suffice to say I LOST EVERYTHING.
EVERYTHING. Lost. Deleted. Disappeared. Gone.
We're talking every book I've ever written...every idea I've ever had...every project I was currently working on (fyi, there were three😭)...every graphic ever designed or idea ever jotted down for my Newsletters or website or Facebook/Twitter pages...every photo I've ever taken (well, the digital ones, anyway)--including the very last picture of my dad before he passed away. 😩
It's bad. Soooooo bad. 🥴
But...*deep breath*🧘🏻♀️...all is not lost.🤞 I have a little thing called HOPE.😬 My laptop and every external hard drive/backup I own went to the Computer Emergency Room for a bit of urgent care.🏥 The-Powers-That-Be-Smarter-Than-Me looked things over and found...some files. Or what they think are some files, anyway. TPTBSTM say they're on there...maybe not all of them, but we did a little scouting around and a several of the files that I could think of off the top of my head seemed to be on the list. YAY!!! 🙆♀️
Again, I am not good with this sort of thing, so I haven't actually managed to access any of those things on my end yet. But figuring that out is at the very top of my To Do list, believe me. 📌 And just knowing most of what I lost is there, somewhere, hiding like a little groundhog afraid of his shadow, is what's keeping me going. 🤓
All of that is, I suppose, the very long way of saying that I'm working from a blank slate over here, on all fronts. (I had some great stuff in the works, too, dagnabbit.😡) So please bear with me. 🐻
The Newsletters may look a bit different for a while, and I may have to scramble for content...
My Facebook and Twitter posts may be few and far between...
And writing-wise...who the heck knows?!😭 I am dabbling with something, but it sure isn't easy to work up enthusiasm for a new project when I'd been so close to finishing another. 😝 Still, I'm trying. ✍️🤓
One of these days, things will get back to normal. (She says, pretending she believes that's even remotely possible. 🤪 The same way she believes in unicorns🦄 and magic 🧙♀️ and that her Darling Tom is just waiting for the right time to pop the question. 💍)
Until then, THANK YOU for being patient with me! I love you and miss you all, and promise to keep you updated with whatever progress I can make...as well as sharing new information as soon as I can. 🎃
