• New emergency university policy EP – 20-1 COVID-19 Return to Campus outlines required procedures for returning to on-campus work.
• All employees returning to campus must complete training, PER 231 Returning to Campus Operations for employees who have not already completed Restarting Research or who will need to complete more specialized training. Course completion instructions are available here.
• Daily Self-Screening is necessary for employees coming to campus. The PDF symptom-checker is available here and a mobile app is coming soon.

• Face coverings are required in shared indoor spaces and outdoors where physical distancing is not possible. UCF is distributing a cloth face covering for each employee at several stations. Locations and operating hours are listed here: here.

Face coverings are required to be worn in all inside common spaces or when in close proximity to others.

If facilities staff, contractors, or vendors are seen without masks in the buildings, we are to report them to the work control center, 407-823-5223, with as much detail as possible (location, description, company name). All have been informed of the new requirement.

It will take some time to get used to the new requirements, but this extra effort is essential to preventing the spread of COVID-19. It is also now mandatory for UCF employees and can result in disciplinary action.

There is a new official UCF policy on how to proceed in case a COVID-19 positive is detected. As you will see, if the person testing positive has not been at UCF during the previous 72 hours, there is no need to take any additional precautions by the team's responsible faculty (other than the obvious ones). Otherwise, the document provides contact information and UCF officials will take care of the tracing.

NSF extended the deadline for this year’s CAREER proposals from July 27 to August 11, see updated solicitation at here.

Hanover Research launched a Grantsmanship Training Center module for NSF CAREER proposals, designed to walk faculty through the various stages in developing a competitive proposal. The resource also includes a wealth of information about CAREER, including recent Hanover webinars, examples of winning proposals, annotated applications, and insights from past reviewers and Program Officers.
