In 2020, it was the first time that an exhibition from this French studio crossed the ocean to be presented in Montreal. Mirages & miracles was exhibited a few weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic and had to be interrupted due to confinement. The PHI team really wanted to present the work of Adrien M and Claire B again. This time, Last Minute will be an opportunity to be immersed in the first or last minute of life.
Programming
Last Minute - November 8, 2022 to March 5, 2023
Last Minute is a ritual to take care of mourning, births and metamorphoses while awakening our different senses. From this intimate experience, Adrien Mondot and Claire Bardainne wanted to create a transposition: the journey of the last minute. The one just before crossing the threshold.
For 40 minutes, in a space bathed in video and music, this installation offers the possibility of collectively experiencing a switch between a before and an after of metamorphosis at the level of matter and particle.
Habitat Sonore - November 9, 2022 to January 15, 2023
This space is an invitation to sound immersion. PHI welcomes you to an intimate and relaxing environment where you can discover sound in all its forms: from sound baths to audio shorts, from music albums to chromotherapy. Enjoy a wide variety of poetic, meditative and performative content.
Horizons VR - extended until January 6, 2023
After the success of the artworks over the summer season, the PHI team is extending the exhibition with a selection of award-winning VR works that will immerse you in four distinct worlds sharing unique and powerful stories: Kusunsa, Goliath: Playing with Reality, Marco & Polo Go Round and Reeducated.
In conjunction with the exhibition, PHI will present an evening of mediation around Kusunda, a work that explores the importance of indigenous languages. Awakening Tongues: The Future of Languages at Risk of Extinction is a panel discussion on the realities facing indigenous languages in the world today. Including panelists Josephine Bacon, Léuli Eshrāghi, Gayatri Parameswaran, and Jeremy Dutcher, moderated by Mojeanne Behzadi.
CINEMANIA & a photo exhibition by Fabrizio Maltese - 2 to 30 November
On the occasion of the 28th edition of CINEMANIA, where Luxembourg is the guest of honor, the PHI Centre will present a selection of four virtual reality works produced or co produced by the Luxembourg as well as Up Close, a photo exhibition by Fabrizio Maltese, an Italian photographer and filmmaker based in Luxembourg.
