Thanks to all who preordered and purchased this book! You’ve helped make this very important week in my new book’s life so wonderful. And your kind and lovely reviews have helped refill my creative well. (I’m back to work on my revisions of Book III, at long last.)

As promised, below is the name of the Grand Prize winner. So, so many entries! So many of my readers who have become dear friends over months of Q&As! I just wish I had a hundred prizes to give out.

(Prize includes a tool pouch like the ones worn by the McCall sisters in the series, various hand tools including a hammer, tape measurer, adaptable screw driver, utility knife, gloves, carpenter’s pencil, marking pen and MORE. Additionally, there will be a $25 Gift Card TBD [I originally thought Lowes or Home Depot, but I will let the winner choose—Amazon is also an option.] Winning name will be announced in my newsletter. If winner fails to contact me within a week from announcement [Thursday-Thursday], an alternate name will be drawn until we have a winner.)

Winner: Lady Magnolia
Congratulations! Hope to hear from you soon!

Mother’s Day was a special treat as I got to spend it with both my son and my daughter. Although the older granddaughters spent the day with their mom, Kelly’s three were with us, too, and we all piled into the RV for a jaunt to the Mile-High Vista by way of the Scenic By-Way.

I hadn’t realized how much I missed this place until we got there.

After hanging out for a bit, we headed to our favorite picnic spot on Rock Creek, which included a jump in the icy pools for my kids, but not for me.

It was a wonderful day—and the best part was it seemed so “normal.” I’d forgotten what that was like.

Last week’s Q&A was: Do you take photos on your phone? Yes or No.

I feel like a boob for assuming everyone has a cell phone. LOL. Not so. But, the majority of you answered, YES. Many agreed that cell phone cameras are convenient, but there’s still a place for regular cameras as well.

My two randomly selected winners this week are:

Wioletta Slyk – Yes
and
Leaette Khalaf – Yes

(Wioletta and Leaette congrats. Please email me your pick of either a $5 Starbucks or a $5 Amazon gift card.)

Q&A

This week’s Q&A: Are you doing something special for Memorial Day? Y or N?

(Two winners will be chosen by random drawing to receive either a $5 Starbucks gift card or a $5 Amazon gift card. Please reply the usual ways: email or on my DebraSalonenAuthor Facebook page.)

Last, but not least: The Covid Corvair lives!

Paul named his barn-find the Covid Corvair because it arrived in his shop about the same time as the virus hit. And the timing couldn’t have been better because when construction jobs went south, he had a new project to work on while self-isolating.

He’s positive there was a gallon of mouse poop in it. The first time he fired up the engine, a million tiny pieces of mouse nests shot out the tail pipe. LOL.

He’s still waiting for parts to fine-tune the motor, but it’s running! And Paul is a happy camper.

Stay well, my friends!

Happy reading,

Deb

Next week: Graduations in the time of Covid. ☹️
