Health and Safety Officers

Your Partners in Prevention

WorkSafeNB Health and Safety Officers visit workplaces across the province each year to support safe and healthy work environments.

As your workplace gets underway, one of our officers may stop by to introduce themselves. These visits are primarily focused on prevention and education. Our officers work with employers and workers to:

Identify and assess workplace hazards
Clarify legislative requirements
Provide practical guidance
Support the development of effective safety programs

Officers have authority under the Occupational Health and Safety Act to enforce compliance when necessary. However, most visits are proactive and collaborative in nature.
