Synchronizing Countries and Regions

As you know, NomadMania's original geographic structure is based on 1301 unique regions — our distinctive way of exploring and understanding the world in greater depth.

With the introduction of the SLOW ranking and the Countries List, we noticed a recurring issue: some users were marking only countries as visited without selecting specific regions. This occasionally resulted in inconsistent scores, such as having more visited countries than regions—which, of course, isn't possible.

To improve accuracy and streamline our platform, we've introduced a new system: whenever a new country is marked as visited, the system will automatically add the most commonly visited region within that country. You can easily edit this region or add more as needed.

Please note that this update only applies to members who have marked countries without selecting any regions. If you add a new region, the corresponding country will continue to be added automatically, as before.

This is an important step toward creating a centralized system for data entry. Our goal is to make it possible for you to input your travel information just once, in one place, and have it automatically reflected across all rankings and your profile details.

Security Alert

Recently, we've received numerous complaints from several members about an unsolicited email sent by someone named "Dina," claiming to represent a project called Every Single Country. The message promotes a "limited-time opportunity" to connect and encourages users to import their NomadMania profile data into their platform.

We want to stress that this is not affiliated with NomadMania in any way. Sharing your profile data with third-party platforms — especially ones that contact users unsolicited — poses a serious security and privacy risk. The approach and credibility of this particular project raise significant concerns.

Please exercise caution. NomadMania has no connection to this initiative, and we strongly advise against engaging with such requests.
