Omg, it’s here it’s here it’s here.

Hold the phone, .

My old website helped me stretch my wings beyond private practice and grow a copywriting business I loved.

As years progressed and my business grew, it was clear I was outgrowing my website. Like a sad kite flapping in the wind,🪁 it did a good job of signaling to folks what I did, but with little to no flair. I felt stifled, like I couldn't take any more progressive steps in my business until my website caught up with me.

The meta nature of this is not lost on me. Many of my copywriting clients feel this about their copy before working with me. I truly get how you might feel when you're looking for something to change in your business.

Most thriving businesses will choose to upgrade their design, refresh their brand photos, and spruce up their copy at some point.

It is a milestone to be celebrated! Yay, growth, change, and evolution!

But I no longer have any hard and fast rules about when that milestone needs to be for you.

Pre-2020, I used to say your copy needed a refresh every 2 years. In a post-pandemic world, I think that depends on your business model, profit goals, and personal preference.

Small yearly updates may be necessary depending on your services, business model, and audience. For others, you can do a massive overhaul every 3-5 years. Let's consider your finances, too. And your wise intuition. Does it *feel* like it's time for a refresh? Why? Are you doing it for the right reasons? And what are the right reasons, anyway?

I hold firmly to the adage, "If it's not broke, don't fix it."

But no one ever complained about a fresh coat of paint. 😉 (Or sparkly confetti, in my case.)

So, I’m rolling out a new website that’s undeniably more me.

With an uninhibited voice and playful visuals, this website reveals how I authentically show up as a copywriter, content strategist, and creative human.

More importantly, it's better aligned with my mission to help therapists, healers, and holistic practitioners write copy that sounds like them and dazzles their ideal clients.

It walks the walk, if you will.

Between you and me, I know rebrand announcements can feel boring, stuffy, and self-inflated. The “look at me” vibe can fall flat. (But, also, please look at me?)

So, I want this announcement to double as a mini-lesson for when you’re considering a rebrand, a website upgrade, or a copy overhaul.

Let's normalize the factors to consider when it's time for you to make a change. Let's tap into both your intuition and strategic insight.

Let's embrace that "stifled" feeling as a sign of growth, not a business expense to dread. Although, I do find it less stressful to financially plan for these changes.

With this mini-lesson in mind, here are 5 major changes to my website.

1️⃣ A simpler format: I choose a robust, yet scroll-happy one-page website as opposed to your traditional 5-pager. In addition to being in line with emerging online business trends, this approach allowed me to get my rebrand out into the world as quickly as possible.

2️⃣ My name as domain: I switched from thecopycove.com to my full name, ariannasmith.com. I choose this route to embrace more of a personal brand strategy, one that allows more of my full self to be expressed in my business. Still a copywriter, but also a person, too.

3️⃣ Standing out from the crowd: With this rebrand, I wanted to differentiate myself from other copywriters by signaling my woo side and clinical background. It also felt essential to own my skill as a savvy strategist for email marketing and content planning. You'll see this highlighted with titles like Intuitive Copywriter, Content Strategist, and Licensed Therapist. (Still exploring the right combo!)

4️⃣ Crisp, vibrant visuals: My first legit brand photo shoot! No more backyard headshots (sorry, mom!). My fabulous brand photographer guided me in choosing clothes, props, and poses to reflect my irreverent, sparkly self. You might remember a peek into the process from this unexpectedly popular email.

5️⃣ Easy + efficient inquiry process: This was one of the biggest ah-ha lessons from my website designer. My old site created a barrier to prospective clients with TOO many options to reach me (Email me! Book a call! Buy a pony!) in part due to design limitations. Now I have an efficient and quick way for folks to reach out that results in more trust and certainty from the very first step.

My new website was the biggest thing I launched in 2023. It never would have happened without a team of extraordinary supporters.

💚 My brilliant web designer, Emily Agan, for answering 323 questions before we hit publish.

💜 My brand photographer, Mackenzie, who took my vision and made it sparkle. Literally. We ended the shoot with confetti all over her studio.

💛 To Liz, Annie, Nancy, Paige, and Nyssa for your invaluable feedback and encouragement when I was writing the final copy and second-guessing every. damn. word. (Copywriters! We're human, too!)

🖤 To Maegan, my business coach, for encouraging me to wholeheartedly trust myself during this process.

And thanks to you, , for being part of my email fam. 💙

Writing copy can be so overwhelming for therapists and holistic practitioners. I wanted to create a website that made you feel seen in your struggle...but upgrade the doom and gloom with confetti and unicorn mugs.

As I step into this exciting new phase of my business, I’m eager to see where the path goes. 💫

With deep gratitude,

 Ari

P.S. Two words: NEW WEBSITE. It's more than a fresh coat of confetti.
