Are you a Netflix binger? I'm usually not, but a few years ago, I started watching old X-Files episodes. They were popular when I was in college, and they "took me back." With all 202 episodes laid out in front of me, I realized I had only seen a fraction of them. Wasn't long before I was hooked, though it took me an entire 12 months to get through all 9 seasons. It was pretty much the only thing I watched that year, because the series I was writing took up so much of my time. A certain 5-episode, sci-fi series... Yup, Recompense. If you've read it, you may have noticed a subtle Scully and Mulder vibe between Ethan and Jack. That much X-Files exposure was definitely an influence. If you've never read the series, the first book is FREE at all major online retailers, which menas this is a great time to pick up a copy!
