A big piece of my platform is reviewing books. I try to find interesting indie authors who are self-publishing. Sadly, I only read about 1 book per month. To read a book and create/market a BookTube video can take me upwards of 20 hours. In the future, if I am not in the middle of writing a novel, I would love to start making a second video each month, but I just don't have the time right now.
Previously I embedded the videos right into these emails. I am going to stop that. Instead, I will just post a brief summary. If you want to watch the videos, you can find all my stuff on YouTube or via my website.

January 2022 - Victor Vahl - The Yellow Oak
This book got me with the cover. I love the yellow and black. I love the silhouette. Once the cover hooked me I read the blurb and gave it a go. One of my goals is to read more horror as didn't read much horror for my channel leading into the release of Pulse. Growing my horror knowledge and fans is important to me. The Yellow Oak is a quick read that you can get through in 1 or 2 nights. If you like the psychological horror of The Shining, the tension of The Lighthouse, or the fantastically strange worlds of Annihilation and Pan’s Labyrinth, then check this book out!
February 2022 - P.L. Stuart - The Drowned Kingdom
Epic fantasy from a Canadian indie author! This book is big and took some time to get moving. There is a ton of depth of world created. The highlight is the battles. P.L. can write a battle scene that would feel right at home on the pages of George R.R. Martin or J.R.R. Tolkien. This first novel didn't have many fights but they were the standout parts. P.L. was kind enough to share an ARC of the sequel (The Last of the Atalanteans) and the pace is much better. I am only about 1/3 of the way done, but so far it is trending as a 5-star read that fixes the nitpicks I had with the first book. He lists the sequel release as Spring 2022 so watch for the sequel to drop any week now!
March 2022 - T.C. Schueler - 22 Dutch Road
This video just went up today and this is a special video for me because T.C. is an award-winner with Reader Views. I had this book on my TBR for months and always wanted it to be my read going into the 2022 contest announcements. This book has it all. Interesting characters, thrilling plot, fun puzzles, creepy horror. Writing a book is no small feat. Writing a book that wins an award. That is a special feeling. Congrats T.C.!
He actually has made his book free on Amazon until March 3rd. Grab a copy:
