Artemis DOULGERAKI MD, PhD, MRCPCH, FRCPCH - Head of the Department of Bone and Mineral Metabolism Institute of Child Health, Athens - Greece
Dr Artemis Doulgeraki graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), Greece, where she also obtained her PhD.She was trained in General Paediatrics in Greece and United Kingdom (London). She became full member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH, UK) in 2004 and was elected RCPCH Fellow in 2020. Her current post since 2011 is Director of the Department of Bone and Mineral Metabolism, at the Institute of Child Health in Athens, Greece, her special interest being paediatric bone disease, such as rickets, osteoporosis (primary and secondary) and rare bone diseases (e.g. skeletal dysplasias). She also has a vivid interest in paediatric bone densitometry and body composition. She has been awarded scholarships and prizes for clinical excellence. She has authored many scientific articles, most of which focus on the field of metabolic bone disorders. She is teaching in two NKUA postgraduate programs and is currently an active member of the Hellenic bone clubs and the British Paediatric and Adolescent Bone Group of the RCPCH. She is also an active researcher and reviewer of many medical journals. She constantly strives for better health for all children.
