Aware Senior Care Wins Triangle Business Journal’s Family-Owned Business Award
Company joins 13 other Triangle-area businesses to receive this honor
CARY, NC (December 9, 2019) - On Friday, the Triangle Business Journal announced that Aware Senior Care won its 2019 Family Business Award. They are one of fourteen Triangle-area businesses to receive this honor. This is the first time the company has received this honor, and it is the eighth major award the agency has won in the past year for its highly skilled and compassionate in-home care services.
“When you own a family business, your employees are your family,” said Tim Murray, Aware Senior Care’s CEO and Co-Founder. “As our company grew over the past five years, our son joined the team, working alongside me and my wife, Gina. We’ve also come to think of our other 133 employees as our family. Treating our employees like our family is really at the heart of our work here, and that’s what makes this place so special.”
According to the Triangle Business Journal, the annual Family-Owned Business Awards recognize “multigenerational, family-owned as well as closely held businesses in the Triangle for overall excellence, innovation, ethics, philanthropy and contribution to the strength of the region.” This is the event’s fourth year.
Aware Senior Care was selected for this honor amongst dozens of local businesses nominated from throughout the community. Nominees must be a family-owned business with at least 51 percent control of ownership; have been in business for at least two years; and headquartered in the Triangle region.
“In many cases, a lifetime of sacrifice has gone into the companies that are represented on this list of winners,” says Jason Christie, publisher of the Triangle Business Journal.
“It’s exciting to see what these companies bring to the table, otherwise known as our local economy. I applaud them for what they’ve done and I look forward to seeing where they’re headed in the years to come.”
