Amy Martin's New "Ski and Snow" Series for the Studio Tour

As an avid skier, Amy finds great inspiration on the local slopes where the shape and form of skiers' bright clothing and goggled faces stand out against the white backdrop and pointed trees. She enjoys viewing the earth from an aerial perspective (she was formerly an Army helicopter pilot) and has included aerial paintings of trees in snow, often seen from the ski lift, in her new series.

These will be available on the upcoming studio tour (studio #30).

Dolors Rusha's New Jewelry Line for the Studio Tour

Dolors Rusha is working on a new glass jewelry line. "The raw materials come from Murano, Italy. The glass I am using is named Millefiori glass, which means a thousand flowers. I am fusing the small pieces with clear compatible glass. I am first making big glass pieces, 10 x 10 approximately, and then I cut them out for small pieces of jewelry. Each pair of earrings is grooved around, and wire-wrapped with sterling silver. I also have a new website. It was fun making my website too!"

Trice Tolle is a relatively new member of CAA. Some of her paintings have recently been hung at the library in Stanwood. Please take a look the next time you're in town.

Camano Arts Association Meeting March 4th, 6:30pm

Camano Center

An association of individuals creating and appreciating all types of art. Public Welcome. Joins us and meet some kindred spirit and share the love.

Program Speaker: Russ Riddle

"A Personal Journey Into The Art of Making Furniture"

Russ Riddle will talk about his personal journey from making functional furniture for himself to creating art furniture. He will talk about his background and inspiration for creating art and his approach to designing unique furniture, all illustrated with examples of his work.

Russ is a self-taught woodworker who started making “studio furniture,” sometimes called “art furniture,” about 15 years ago. His furniture has been featured in various regional galleries and he has customers from California to Japan. His furniture designs reflect his observations of the world around him and often feature nature themes. Much of his work features surface designs using marquetry and inlay but other pieces feature live edges and other natural features of wood.
