SEPTEMBER 2019
New school year? New season? Let's head into it with a smile.

One of my favorite parts of this job is getting to know patients and families.  We are fortunate to be able to treat a wide range of ages at HDD.  This fall, we have patients who are experiencing their first days in preschool or kindergarten and some returning to college in many areas of the country.  We have adults and parents starting a new season at work or home and retirees ready for the cooler weather and many colors that Fall brings with it.  We love hearing about what's new in each of your worlds when you come in for your appointments, and in turn we like to keep you up to date on anything going on in ours.  Take a few moments to read through our news, and I'll see you at your next visit to HDD.

Jose Gil, DMD

Second Annual Patient Appreciation Night

Thank you to all who made it out for our second Patient Appreciation Night.  We enjoyed a private showing of The Art of Racing in the Rain at Movie Tavern in Trexlertown.  We had a wonderful time, despite shedding a few tears at the touching film.  The team at HDD is already brainstorming for next year's event so stay tuned!

Office Closure

We will be closed on Monday, September 2nd in observance of Labor Day.  We recognize all the men and women who work hard to maintain the strength, prosperity, and vitality of our nation.  HDD will reopen with normal hours on Tuesday, September 3rd.

Baby Safety Month

September is Baby Safety Month, brought to you by the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA).  Annually, they call on parents and caregivers to focus on using age-appropriate and properly tested products looking after little ones.  Visit their site for more information on how you can minimize risk of injury for any children in your care.

Treatment Spotlight - Diastema Closure

We know we've been bombarding your monthly news with veneer information and pictures, but we've had so many patients seeking to improve their smiles in this minimally invasive way.  The patient pictured here was looking to close her diastema (the space between front teeth), and Dr. Gil was able to make a dramatic difference by using chairside composite veneers.  See our March and July newsletters for some other examples of veneers and for information on the different types available.

Hannah
Team Member Feature

Hannah joined the team at HDD in December 2018, and she is Dr. Gil's dental assistant extraordinaire.  She is an expert at helping during all types of procedures, including Dr. Julee's root canal treatments.  With her humor and relaxed personality, Hannah easily makes our nervous patients comfortable.  In addition to assisting chairside, she oversees our inventory at HDD and aids Karen and Emily at the front desk when they need an extra hand with appointments or phone calls.

When Hannah is not at HDD, she enjoys spending time with her dogs and going to the beach with friends.
