I hope May has brought you some fun outdoor-sy moments. Even if it's only through a window. Sunshine is an elixir. Below is a gif from one of my favorite shows - The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. The gif from the show is kind of my mood right now - but I can only dream about being in a pool since I don't have one. 

Long ago I was a lifeguard at one of the many local pools for four summers in Texas. Those were before the sunscreen days, heck - I'm not even sure I drank water other than sips from the fountain. But the pool was my life. 

I miss riding my bike to and from work for my 8-hour day of blowing my whistle and mandating time-outs for the mostly unchaperoned neighborhood kids running amok. We were a pack. During the slow times or cloudy days, we'd sit poolside, and chat about life. I wish I could re-visit those chats. There was a public tennis court across the street from the pool/clubhouse and a clipboard and pencil attached to the fence where you could sign up for your slot to play tennis. Sometimes the kids would ride their bikes to a nearby Jack-in-the-Box and get me tacos. Thanks, kids. I'm giving back by having an always-present bowl of candy on my front porch for the crew of littles in my neighborhood. I'm "the candy house". They fear/love me. :) Still blowing that whistle.
