An interesting development in the drive to get patients home from hospital more quickly - a one-off PHB (Personal Health Budget) for hospital discharge.
The PHB would be available where existing commissioned services either can't meet the need, or aren't able to do so quickly enough. It would need to enable discharge at least two days earlier than would otherwise be possible, and meet various other requirements as well.
I'm guessing that you are now familiar with anosmia, or loss of smell, even if you didn't previously know of this once rare condition, which can be a symptom of COVID.
But how about parosmia? It was new to me! Sometimes it follows an episode of anosmia, and it involves distortion of smell, with everyday scents such as onion, coffee or garlic, triggering disgusting smells like vomit or sewage.
