Bassenthwaite Lake Station
Bassenthwaite Lake Station, a station on the former Cockermouth, Keswick, Penrith railway in Cumbria, that closed in 1966 and fell into a serious state of disrepair, has been given a new lease of life.
The station building along with a full-size replica steam train, which had been used as the filmset for the 2017 film, Murder on the Orient Express, have been transformed into a fantastic new cafe. The cafe opens for breakfast from 9am (earlier for takeway) and also serves lunch and their very own Orient Express afternoon tea. Whilst they do take walk-ins, booking ahead is recommended.
