Hate Speech

Obiektivi, Night Studio, October 27

Bondo Mdzinarashvili, anchor: “United National Movement should receive no votes. I say it especially for the sectants – banish the devil! Banish the devil! Banish the devil! Cross the candidates of the Nationals’ sect three times if they approach you and if some of their representatives resist, you can push them from the stairs, well, of course it does not apply to young people.”

Xenophobia

Obiektivi, Night Studio, October 7

Irma Inashvili, Alliance of Patriots: “This Iranian investor who has taken on lease so many territories, Georgian lands, or even purchased them for long makes our people work as hired personnel. Same applies to other Arab investors who do not contribute by some significant amount to the budget, they do not care about the budget and it is proven by statistical data. I feel sorry for our people…”

Interpressnews, October 27

Davit Tarkhan-Mouravi – Aliiance of Patriots: “Excessive leniency of the Government of Georgia may cause disintegration of the country. In this case, Azerbaijan can express claims for Marneuli region.”

Turkophobia

Georgia and World, October 12

Giorgi Gelashvili, journalist: “To those who are unaware, I say that [Ahmed] Imamkuliyev mounted music from a video clip that praises Ottoman Empire to his pre-election clip and does not hide during meetings that time has come to restore borders of the glorious Ottoman Empire. Nobody holds him accountable for these words, hence his increasing audacity… They (the locals) are well aware that if needed, Imamkuliyev will not hesitate even to use a weapon. After that, no one will remember, who shot the first bullet and we will once again watch a movie that Georgia has already seen several times.”

Alia, October 3-7

Tsotne Gamsakhurdia, Alliance of Patriots: “[Mikheil] Saakashvili gave thousands of radical Turks citizenship with one move of a hand. Whereas the current Government of Turkey was openly speaking of returning Batumi peacefully to Turkey!”

Obiektivi, Political Night, October 4

Vazha Otarashvili, Alliance of Patriots: “They may even build a school without asking you. One may come out in his/her own yard only to see a Turkish school constructed there. They can build an Arab building and Arab village on your soil so that nobody will ask this, and when you protect your girls, your women on Plekhanov Street, Georgian police will arrest and imprison you… If only somebody dared to do what Turks are doing here abroad and you would see what would happen – you would not get away alive.”

Georgia and World, October 6

Valeri Kvaratskhelia, Neutral/Socialist Georgia: “Every wall, entrance and showcase was covered by English and Turkish writings. Turkish speech was flowing as a river from streets. Turks, running back and forth, were opening cafes, shops and kiosks with noise. They were overtaking each other and competing with each other in a manner of Turkish hospitality, as if they are waiting for guests to arrive. It was a dawn in almost Turkish Batumi.”

Asaval-Dasavali, October 3-9

Elizbar Diakonidze, reverend: “Today, they are scolding Aslan Abashidze, however, during his rule, no Turk could dare to even stand in Adjara. While, since [Mikheil] Saakashvili and then Georgian Dream came to power, Turks became so impudent that there is even a joke that in Tbilisi, Aghmashenebeli’s statue is swinging its sword…”

Asaval-Dasavali, October 30 – November 6

Nikoloz Mzhavanadze, Union of Ombudsmen: “Explain to us, if Russia is the occupant, then why is not Turkey, who stole Tao-Klarjeti from us, an occupant as well?.. Was not it Russia who returned Adjara to Georgia?.. Modern Sergo Orjonikidze – Mikheil Saakashvili took commitment to construct Aziziye Mosque while our churches and monasteries are on the brink of destruction in Tao-Klarjeti and Georgian priests are not allowed to conduct church services!”

Asaval-Dasavali, October 24-30

Tamaz Bakuridze, ombudsman: “We face a circumstance, under which Turks enslaved Georgians already in Georgia!.. I am not a Turkophobe at all and would like to have good neighborly relations with Turkey, but not only Turkey does not want neighborly relations with us, it wants to swallow us!”

Armenophobia

Asaval-Dasavali, October 3-9

Guram Petriashvili, writer: “Sandra [Roelofs] says: “I am a daughter-in-law of Mingrelians.” Mingrelians? Is not she a daughter-in-law of Armenians?! If Zviad Gamsakhurdia stood up from his grave now and saw his allies next to [Mikheil] Saakashvili, his heard would explode.”

Religious Discrimination

Georgia and World, October 5

Constantine Katamadze, author: “A natural and logical question emerges: as the Pope was let into Svetitskhoveli, is not he an heretic anymore or is His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II and the synod disobeying laws of God-bearing saint fathers of Council of Laodicea?”

Interpressnews, October 1

Davit Lasurashvili, Deacon: “We came here to protest the arrival of heretic Pope [Francis], a person who arrived with a so-called apostolic mission in order to preach, here, in a 21st century orthodox country.”

Alia, October 3-7

Avatndil Ungiadze, Union of Orthodox Parents:

“… recently, there have been efforts to establish Catholicism, which is a pseudo teaching, in the East, and this visit (Pope’s visit to Georgia) is a part of this plan… Every sixth or seventh padre in Catholic Church is a pedophile and Americans write it. In the recent period, Holy See paid 3 billion USD to conceal such cases, to save these pedophile padres from prosecution. Europe stepped aside from the popery due to this and various other reasons and now, after all this, how is it possible to trust children to such heretic religion and its heretic representatives?”

Homophobia

Marshalpress, October 24

Vaka Gorgiladze, Maestro’s anchor: “Pornography is illegal, right? It is the same. Why is pornography illegal? Am I afraid of porno? Do not we love porno? Why is it illegal? Is legalization of LGBT parade normal, acceptable?.. There is homosexuality dictated by culture. Where LGBT was legalized… it is high. Number of homosexuals grows there.”

Marshalpress, October 22

Sandro Bregadze, Erovnulebi: “They (LGBT community) can live and work, no one is restricting them, but they should not create a sort of perversity center in the center of Tbilisi, they should not enter churches.”

Obiektivi, Night Studio, October 7

Irma Inashvili, Alliance of Patriots: “We adopt what is good from the West, however, we will never adopt what is unacceptable for our country’s interests, our traditions, our morale, our customs, our faith… For me, family is a union between woman and man and nothing else: not a union between woman and cat, man and car, crocodile and something else, but only between woman and man that is recognized by my religion… ”

Objective, Night Studio, October 26

Rezo Amashukeli, writer: “Day and night, some Sutidze (Levan Sutidze, Tabula’s journalist), half-gay, or whoever he is (I will find it hard to control words, I see), sits there and curses and swears the church. This reminds me of African pigs with big tusks. Who asked these women with insufficient hormones to mentor us?”

Caucasia, Barrier, October 27

Archil Chkoidze, Erekle II Society: “The TV channels are loaded with the information that some transgender was wounded and nearly made us cry with crocodile tears, while everyday children are dying of starvation… When rights of normal people are violated, nobody bats an eye…”

Anti-Western Sentiments

Saqinform, October 7

Arno Khidirbegashvili, Editor of Saqinform: “Moreover, [Giorgi] Tughushi has been appointed in Georgia by secret globalist institutes and LGBT organizations to introduce same-sex marriage, incest, standard of “parent 1” and “parent 2”, to destroy Georgian mentality!”

Georgia and World, October 19

Davit Mkheidze, journalist: “No party or politician dared to say clearly, in an understandable way that godless USA and EU, from where nothing comes except perversities, are enemies of Georgia. This is why we should turn our back to the West and look towards Russia.”

Gender

Asaval-Dasavali, October 24-30

Giorgi Gigauri, journalist: “”Transgender woman” Zizi is as “woman” as, for example, Ninia Kakabadze or Tamar Kordzaia – “ombudsmen”! Yes, it is same anomaly, as female bull or male cow!”

Pirveli Radio, October 26

Shalva Natelashvili, Labour Party of Georgia: “Deceased Muammar Gaddafi has said that woman is a human as well…”

Resonance, October 29

Ramaz Sakvarelidze, political scientist: “[Tamar] Chugoshvili or [Tea] Tsulukiani – the issue does not look like this to me. Both are exceptional women. Both smile very beautifully, what else could I say…”

Prime Time, October 24

Gia Khukhashvili, expert: “As for Vera Kobalia, I cannot speak about her, as she never decided anything and was just green eyes attached to the façade.”
