Hello ,
Last week, I mentioned two things. One was the fact that I was down with Covid and it was incredible to read the flood of emails and messages wishing me a complete and speedy recovery. Thank you for making my week just a tiny bit better with such an outpouring of care and concern.
EMBRACING A LIFE OF OBSCURITY
The second thing was about living in obscurity. All of this came down to changing priorities in the face of a global pandemic, more so when you're literally facing it up close yourself. One big question I had to ask myself was this one:
What if I am happy with the reach I am getting right now? What if I don’t want more accolades, more visibility, more followers?
Instead, what if we consciously focus on serving our community, our readers, our subscribers and our audience- wherever they find/follow us- with the highest form of gratitude? Think about it. You’d never have to worry about the algorithm, the concept of follower growth or the idea of tricks and ways to ‘get seen’. Because when your work serves its audience, they will find it.
I talk about embracing obscurity in the latest blog post and what this means for my YouTube channel, my podcast and eventually, my Instagram page. Read all about it here.
HOW TO REMEMBER WHAT YOU READ
Shane Parrish asks:
Why is it that some people seem to be able to read a book once and remember every detail of it for life, while others struggle to recall even the title a few days after putting down a book?
The answer is simple but not easy.
It’s not what they read. It’s how they read. Good reading habits not only help you read more but help you read better.
