(vol 3, issue 4) you spin me right round, baby, right round
How was your February? Mine was hard work. Editing, participating in an online writing course, getting back into teaching, and reading like it's going out of style.
I'm not complaining though. Had a bit of a breakthrough - without getting into the details, I was really angry at someone, like really pissed. (It's not Eric, and we tried to help each other, but often when you have a friend who agrees with you, you keep massaging the misery.)
Anyway, when I woke up the next day, my mind was on replay. I kept imagining more arguments. You know what I'm talking about.
But once I began my morning routine (I've added the 5 Tibetian Rites to my yoga), I started to feel better because the first Tibetan exercise is to spin with your arms out, and let me tell you, it's hard to be angry while spinning.
Honestly, I feel like Linda Carter playing Wonder Woman when I do it. But when I meditated, it was still easy to slip into default mind-chatter mode. So I decided to pretend that the idiot apologized to me. I did it a few times, imagining a simple 'sorry' and me accepting, and it worked. It frickin' worked.
Idiot never apologized, in fact, he's dismissive and fairly clueless, but I got on with my life which is really what you want during these moments. I've been cordial even though I still feel the same way about how things transpired, but I'm done wasting my time with it.

My friend J and I made a pact that this was going to be our year for positive changes. Hope you are discovering every day moments that make life shine. And if you need a bit of shake up, have spin with your arms out wide.
Valerie Lueth is an American woodcut artist whose work I seriously adore. I mean, woodcuts -- who carves wood anymore? So beautiful and intricate. Thanks to Content Catnip for this one.
Take good care,
