Conceived as a must-visit immersive destination, Panorama Expérience will offer experiential journeys that provide a fresh and nuanced perspective on the connections between nature, technology, and the contemporary. The venue will become a vibrant laboratory for immersive storytelling, giving both Montrealers and tourists privileged access to local and international works that reimagine our relationship with the natural world.
Living Waters - The First Journey Centered on the Theme of Water
To inaugurate this new space, Living Waters invites you to an immersive art destination in Montréal’s Old Port where stunning visuals and technology reveal aquatic nature’s hidden wonders through the work of four artists: Marshmallow Laser Feast, Maxwel Hohn, Maryse Goudreau, and Mandy Barker.
“In the heart of the exceptional Port of Montreal's Grand Quay, Panorama Expérience will offer unique immersive journeys just steps away from Old Montreal and only a few metres from the city’s founding site. We invite everyone to discover this innovative cultural destination, which enhances Montreal’s urban and tourist offering in a city that is ever more creative and inspiring. The first experience will also be an opportunity to reconnect with the deep bond that unites Montreal and the water.” Julie Gascon, President and Chief Executive officer, Montreal Port Authority
One Journey: Four Paths
Seeing Echoes in the Mind of the Whale by Marshmallow Laser Feast
A centerpiece of Living Waters, this video installation explores the sensory world of cetaceans through scientific data and immersive imagery. Audiences follow the bottlenose dolphin, the humpback whale, and the sperm whale on a journey between the surface and the depths, revealing their unique ways these species perceive their surroundings. North American premiere.
TADPOLES: The Big Little Migration by Maxwell Hohn
A documentary short that reveals the daily migration of millions of Western toad tadpoles, filmed over four years in an isolated lake in British Columbia. A rare glimpse into a spectacular and fragile natural phenomenon.
Entrer en flagrant délit de légender by Maryse Goudreau
Maryse Goudreau revisits four decades of news related to belugas, combining media headlines with archival photographs. Her work subtly examines how stories and images shape our perception of living beings.
Hong Kong Soup:1826 by Mandy Barker
This photographic series gathers plastic waste collected from the beaches of Hong Kong, revealing the scale of an everyday environmental crisis. Barker creates visually striking compositions that evoke both fascination and awareness. Canadian premiere.
