Justice, in its multiple dimensions, scales and understandings, is both a trigger and outcome of any process aimed at tipping regions towards structural low-carbon systems transformations. This policy brief highlights the importance of taking into account different notions of justice that not only consider traditional notions of recognition, distributive and procedural justice, but also that address more structural and ultimate causes of injustice, or transformative justice, when addressing low-carbon transformations in CCIRs.
