This Sunday's worship service is the result of a great deal of work by many hands. I pray that it will enliven your spirits and give you a sense of forward momentum. This email will not go through the elements of the service like before but I will list some things you should know as we move into the new format.
The service has returned to an order of worship that is closer to what it was before the shut down last year. Attached is a bulletin that you can download and print if you wish or you can just have it ready on your phone or a second computer as you watch the service.
On Sunday morning at 9:30 am click on the link below for the livestream. If you click on the link before Sunday at 9:30 it will just take you to our YouTube page and nothing will show. However, when you click on it on Sunday at 9:30 it will open up to the live service.
You will see us, but we won't see you (but we will know that people are out there). So, if you like to worship in your pajamas, you can still do that.
Finally, the Session will be in the sanctuary as well. This is not because we are ready to return to in-person worship yet, but just so that we can review our new protocol and work out any bugs in the system.
Adult Education. This Sunday, we will continue a series from Faith and Reason on The Ten Commandments: Laws of the Heart featuring Joan Chittister answering the questions:
• Are the Ten Commandments antiquated and obsolete?
• Do they have anything useful for us in the 21st century?
• How did they come to be, and what was their original purpose?
• Have the Ten commandments evolved?
In this series, Joan Chittister, OSB, invites us to think deeply about the moral fibers of our society. She presents the idea that the Ten Commandments are an adventure in human growth and that we are not so much convicted by them as we are transformed by them. “What does it mean to us, to the world, to preserve the Ten Commandments as the bedrock of our civilization?” Sr. Joan offers an honest and refreshing approach to the Ten Commandments unlike anything else today. Today’s lesson will be on the 8th and 9th Commandments, YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS AGAINST YOUR NEIGHBOR, and YOU SHALL NOT COVET YOUR NEIGHBOR’S WIFE.
Please Join us Sunday right after Coffee Hour at 11 AM on Zoom!
