Color ME embarrassed. I logged in this morning to see what comments I had or trivia answers I got from Fridays. Nothing? How can THAT be? 

Well, that can be because I sent it to an audience of exactly one. Myself! Facepalm. So this week it's Take Five/Mondays with Pam! 

Is there any significance to the fact that Thursday is International Mud Day? Given the amount of rain predicted this weekend (which did not materialize here in the Valley of the Foot of the Turkey ...) we should be in good shape for the celebration - and with any luck it will go a long way to alleviating the Drought Watch the entire Commonwealth is still under. 

However you get outside and play - in the mud or in the rain or in the sunshine when it peeks through - happy weekend!

Derek's photo (from the private Pennsylvania State Parks & Forests Book of Faces) required a little shift of the masthead but it is definitely worth it. It was taken last year, says Derek, during an early morning fishing trip to Lake Wilhelm. 

In furtherance of last week's story on the accessible beach at Gifford Pinchot State Park, check out the Mobi-Mat pathway to reach the water! Bill and I used one of these for the first time at a state park close to where we do our Florida snowbird thing and it was a revelation (in wheelchair wheel revolutions).

[Canadian] National Canoe Day - June 26th

Coined by the Canoe Museum of Canada after release of a Canadian Broadcasting Company survey naming the canoe one of the "Seven Wonders of Canada," there's no reason we can't ALL celebrate the canoe - with thanks to our neighbors to the North!
