An Evening with Dario Cohen featuring Foothill Rounders: Enjoy an intimate concert at Fire Doll Studio in downtown Champaign on Saturday, March 7, as Chicago-based singer-songwriter Dario Cohen brings his deeply personal blend of soul-bearing storytelling and seasoned musicianship to the stage. With a journey that stretches from New York City's gritty club scene to the Midwest's vibrant roots circuit and back to Chicago, Dario fuses elements of blues, rock, folk and heartfelt lyricism into every performance. International movie night at the Virginia Theatre: Kokuho (国宝), meaning "National Treasure," is a highly successful 2025 Japanese epic film about the intense, decades-long rivalry between two men destined for greatness in the traditional world of Kabuki theater. It's a visually stunning story of brotherhood, betrayal, ambition and sacrifice, following protagonists Kikuo and Shunsuke from youth to mastery. Starts at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, with a pre-show discussion with members of Japan House. Film begins at 7 p.m. Big Grove Tavern will be on site with Japanese drink offerings; add to your experience with special Japanese theatre snacks at the concessions stand.

Night at the Museum: Enjoy a night out at Krannert Art Museum filled with music and art on Thursday, March 12. Partake in the Sudden Sound Concert (6 p.m.) with two leading forces of America's jazz avant-garde movement converging for a set of catalytic improvisations. The museum stays open until 8 p.m. on Thursdays when class is in session. Free parking and free admission (donations accepted).

Side Stories LIVE! at The Canopy Club: Live podcasting has become all the rage, and now a popular one is headed to Champaign-Urbana at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 14. Hosted by Henry Zebrowski and Ed Larson, it's scary, it's silly, it's slimy. Dig into the latest true crime news and paranormal happenings, breaking down ooky-spooky stories. For ages 18 and up. Beginner's Guide to Astrology: Learn what stars and constellations can tell you at a Beginner's Guide to Astrology on Thursday, March 19, from 6-8 p.m. in The Studio at Allerton Park In this introductory class, instructor Charlie Rainbow Wolf will share the background of astrology, the different types of astrology and astrological signs and planetary correlations. Students will look at how the planets and signs fall into their own chart -- and what this could mean for them on a personal level. Registration ($45 per person) closes March 12 or when capacity is reached.

Feudin' Hillbillys return to The Cadillac in Paxton: For the past several years, the Feudin' Hillbillys have brought their signature sound across the Midwest, sharing stages and opening for national acts including Luke Bryan, Neal McCoy, Montgomery Gentry, Mark Chesnutt, Tracy Lawrence and Diamond Rio. Silent Book Club at Analog: The rules are simple: Read, wine, repeat. Silent Book Club is where everyone is welcome, anyone can do it, and there's no assigned reading. Just show up on Thursday, March 26, and treat yourself with a book. Read in companionable silence with a friend or by yourself. And never worry if you don't finish the book. Free. From 5-8 p.m. at Analog in downtown Urbana.

Myq (pronounced Mike) Kaplan is a standup comedian who has appeared on The Tonight Show, Conan, Letterman, James Corden, Seth Meyers, Comedy Central, Kamau Bell's Totally Biased, Last Comic Standing and America's Got Talent. He's appearing at Yellow and Co. in Mahomet on Saturday, March 28.
