GOD CHOOSES THE WAY
“…God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt. Exodus 13:17 (NIV)
Although there were many established trading and military routes from Egypt to Canaan (the Promised Land), when Pharaoh freed the Israelites, God did not lead them through Philistine territory, although that was shorter. In His providence, God knew that the very prospect of having to battle the Philistines, would cause the Israelites to retreat to Egypt, to a life of slavery (Ex 13:17).
God sees the obstacles when we cannot, so He does not always lead us through the shortest or most convenient route to our destination. Whilst not the SHORTEST, it will ultimately be the most SUITABLE for us. He sees the potential battles and knows if we are able to fight them. God does not only fight our battles, He CHOOSES them. This less “direct” route to our victory may be a source of frustration, confusion or disappointment to us. However, often when we reminisce, our “disappointments” actually saved us from being destroyed.
Be encouraged brethren, and trust that God knows your destination (your destiny) and He knows the best way to get there. Is there anyone more qualified to lead us through paths unknown? Just follow Him.
The work of the Lord through the Woodbrook Pentecostal Church critically needs your weekly financial support of tithes, and offerings such as building, benevolence, missions, and others, now just as you have faithfully done in the past. As many as have or can obtain the facility of online banking, please use it just as if you were attending a service and contributing.
Our office is also open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for your convenience, if you wish to visit to make your contributions.
You are invited to join the WPC's ongoing study series entitled "BIBLICAL KINGDOM ECONOMICS'? Does God have anything to say about the Production, Use, and Management of Resources for the benefit of humanity?
Over the next few weeks, we continue to discuss Kingdom Resource Principles #4 for Productivity "Stewardship of Finances" and how does this apply to this business of Biblical Kingdom Economics? We will discover wisdom for successful living debt-free out of the instructions of God's Word. A guest minister will be sharing their knowledge and experience with us.
Join us every Friday at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom as we explore and learn together on this journey of discovery. Invite the children and young people as well.
Have you experienced the loss of a loved one and need someone with whom you can speak? This is the group for you.
Cycle 2 has begun with workbooks costing $165.00. The books are available at the church office.
If you are interested in joining, you may call either of the following to register or email:
