NomadMania is happy to announce the initiation of the process to gradually increase our regional count which now stands at 1301.

This process will last a few months, with a key emphasis on always explaining why we deem changes necessary or not and considerable community involvement in the process.

Why are we adding new regions? Here are some reasons:

  • to correct some major mistakes made in the calculations of our optimal scores;
  • to allow more community involvement in the process;
  • to be in sync with dynamic geopolitical developments;
  • to up the bar for everyone in terms of travel achievements;
  • More regions mean more choice, so more opportunities to travel!

So, is your country going to have more regions? Stay tuned for more…

Travel Awards Nominations are OUT

This year, we have six voting categories, as follows:

  • Best Travel Content Creator
  • Best Travel Book
  • Most Intrepid Traveller
  • Most Purposeful Traveller
  • Biggest Low Passport Index Traveller
  • Biggest Traveller

These categories will be joined by a further 6 awards to be decided by the NomadMania team, which traditionally include Against All Odds, Biggest NomadMania Friend, Best NomadMania Team Member and our Lifetime Achievement Award. Last year, Best Envoy was also added to this.

This year, this will include Best Fixer, which was a voted category in the previous two years; the team strongly feels that this particular category should be decided internally based on its own experience with diverse fixers planning trips and to ensure the integrity of the process.

Once again, this year, we have a diverse group of international nominees who have excelled in travel in the past year – often as a culmination of a lifetime of travel - and inspire the travel community to go further and learn from their example. We ask the community to vote fairly after reading everybody’s bio and considering their achievements.

Lean all this information here

We are amending the voting procedure to ensure the full integrity of the process. Only trusted users above the age of 15 will be able to vote this year, but we will not open the vote until November 4th. This gives everyone a chance to ‘trust’ other travellers they have met in real life, as well as new members to join the platform and become trusted. Note that meeting a traveller in real life is a requirement for trusting, no matter how well they may be known to you ‘virtually’.

On November 4, the voting will be opened for Trusted users and will continue until November 20.

We remind you that the NomadMania awards will this year be presented as part of our two-day online ‘Weekend of 100+ UN Masters’ which will bring together more than 100 travellers who have visited every country. And indeed some of them are nominees!

NomadMania Delegation at the Pyongyang International Marathon 2026 (DPRK)

Run in one of the world’s most closed-off countries — being part of the NomadMania delegation — at the Pyongyang International Marathon 2026.

This is not a standard tourist trip; entry is expected to be via athlete participation (like it was in 2025), with limited capacity and formal invitations coordinated through Koryo Tours, the marathon’s official foreign partner.

Final dates, logistics, capacity and pricing are not confirmed yet; we’re building a priority list so we can offer spots the moment the race is green-lit.
