***SCHOOL BUDGETS ANNOUCEMENT***

The Department has advised 2025 school budgets will be released this Friday 11 Oct. 

As the Northern Territory transitions into a new chapter with the recent change in government, NTCOGSO extends a warm welcome to the Country Liberal Party (CLP).

We are particularly pleased to welcome Jo Hersey as our new Minister for Education and Training. NTCOGSO has built a strong and positive relationship with Minister Hersey during her time as the Shadow Minister for Education, and we look forward to deepening that collaboration.

We look forward to working collaboratively with the new administration to advocate for the best outcomes for our schools and students.

Our commitment to supporting educational excellence and ensuring every student has the resources they need remains unwavering. We are eager to engage in constructive dialogue and continue our important work together with the CLP, with the goal of fostering a positive and effective educational environment across the Territory.

All members are invited to attend the Annual Full Council Meeting & AGM on Saturday, 9 November at the Mercure Airport Resort, Darwin. This significant gathering serves as an opportunity for schools across our network to come together and help shape the future of Education in the Northern Territory.

1. Register to Attend: Confirm your attendance by utilising Attachment A.
2. Submit Motions: Please use Form B (attached) to submit your motions for consideration.

* put forward motions for the consideration of those attending the meeting

* have delegates, with voting rights, present at the meeting

* nominate persons for positions on the NTCOGSO Executive

2024 NT School Survey Reports

Results coming soon!

The 2024 NT School Survey closed in week 8 Term 3, with more than 17,000 responses received from students, parents and staff across the NT. This is record-breaking participation numbers for students and staff!

Individual School Survey Reports will be distributed to principals this week via email. Schools will also receive an accompanying PowerPoint presentation to support the sharing of school survey data results with the broader school community.

2024 Chief Minister’s Literacy Achievement Awards

Nominations close 23 October

The Chief Minister’s Literacy Achievement Awards (CMLAA) acknowledge the literacy accomplishments of Transition to Year 9 students from government and non-government schools.

The 2024 nomination process will commence on 8 October 2024 and close on 23 October 2024. To nominate now, go to the CMLAA page.

The National Disability Insurance Agency has invited current and prospective National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants, their families and carers to attend the following online information sessions:
