Issue 77- September 11, 2020

Hello Friends-

I'm starting this week's newsletter off by taking a moment of pause and reflection to honor those lives that were lost and impacted on this somber day in history 19 years ago.

"Welcome back to this week's episode of, "The Cre8tive Life"- your weekly newsletter full of lifestyle tips, smiles, and musings.

How has your week been? Is it me, or did it seem like this one rushed by? A lot of this year has kind of felt like a bit of a blur where all the days and weeks just run together into one long day with sporadic naps in between...This week I did a little art, attended some virtual events, did a lot of reflection, applied for some jobs, and binge watched a few random shows. I would say that the random highlight of the week has been "discovering" the breed of Chow Chow dogs. I never know about these dogs before, and somehow ended up going down a rabbit hole of learning a bunch of information about them, and falling in love with their teddybear cuteness.

Anyway...that's enough of me rambling for now I suppose...

Random stories, pictures, video highlights, and other life musings can be found on my personal instagram page (@e101) and official brand page (@thecre8tiveartisan) throughout the week (when/if I end up posting anything).

*And, if you have missed any previous newsletters, feel free to check out the archive section on my website: HERE.

Continued prayers that you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy

(mentally & physically) out there 💗.

My weekly (random) compilation of some of my favorite "cre8tive" things that I want to share:

  • FAVORITE WORD: Boketto (v): gazing vacantly into the distance without really thinking about anything specific

  • ADVICE: “The mirror of a man's heart is his actions." - Anonymous

  • QUARANTINE RECOMMENDATION: This week's show that I binged is something that I am not really "proud" to say that I watched (in fact, I should probably be embarrassed)...Nevertheless, I do have to admit that I found some mindless amusement in a show called, "Baewatch: Parental Guidance." It is premised around the idea of "couples going on a romantic getaway to test their relationship, not knowing their families are calling the shots and cringing over their every move." I recommend this only for the Rom-Com and reality show lovers. Everyone else can kindly skip over...lol

  • THE MORE YOU KNOW: While it is not a "happy" subject to talk about, suicide is a very real and relevant topic in this day and age (especially, considering the state of all things happening in the world). Yesterday was "World Suicide Prevention Day," and the current data predictions of suicide deaths for this year are quite astounding. The World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that each year approximately one million people die from suicide, which represents a global mortality rate of 16 people per 100,000 or one death every 40 seconds. It is predicted that by the end of 2020 the rate of death will increase to one every 20 seconds. I'm providing resources here and here for anyone looking to learn more on ways to recognize symptoms and for more general information.

  • LIFESTYLE TIP: Cauliflower has continued to be quite the fave in terms of people finding creative and innovative ways to eat healthier. Here's a list of 20 Cauliflower Recipes that you can try out for dinner. Let me know if you discover one you love!

I have no musing to wax poetic on this week...

But, I do have this cute and cuddly picture of a Chow Chow that I hope will bring a smile and a warm feeling to your spirit.

This week's challenge is to take a picture of something that makes you smile.

I want to send a big "Thank You" to those who filled out the mini survey last week for my upcoming Cre8tive Art Therapy workshops!

I still need to hear from a few more people to make my final decision on things...So, if you wouldn't mind sparing me a quick 2 minutes of your time, I would greatly appreciate it!

*Refresher: I will be facilitating small group "Cre8tive Art Therapy" sessions for people who need to take a little break from the madness of the world, and explore their cre8tive side. The sessions will be no more than hour and a half long, and will be done bi-weekly.

I will be testing out a few days/times for the offerings, but would REALLY appreciate it if you could fill out this mini poll of interest of what would work best for you (*you can click the link above or below).

Thanks in advance for your support!
